Before the itinerary
Choosing Villa La Angostura as a base changed the rhythm of the trip. I could alternate my first ski experience with scenic roads, a day in Bariloche and long meals—without changing hotels every night.
Where to stay: Glück Patagonia Aparts
I stayed at Glück Patagonia Aparts, right in central Villa La Angostura. The location was a practical choice: it made it easy to go out for meals, walk around town and use Villa as a base without relying on a car for everything.
It is an aparthotel, with units designed for a more independent stay. The common areas combine wood, vivid colors and Patagonian references—a welcoming place to return to after a cold day outside.

For skiing, the real cost includes more than the lift pass: 117,200 pesos for access, 102,700 for equipment and 370,000 for a two-hour lesson for two people.
Beyond the slopes
Bariloche works as a day trip. Puerto Manzano is ideal for a pause by the lake, at a different scale and with a different kind of quiet.
Where to eat
Brava Café, York Bakery, Amelie Fondue, Bahia del Bosque and Waldhaus were on my list for coffee, fondue and slower dinners.
